Ben Mayes is Owner and Director of Fitness Grand, as well as Team Leader and Senior Personal Trainer. He comes from a strong sporting background and has over 20 years’ experience in the fitness industry.

Specialising in rehabilitation, Ben performs detailed musculoskeletal assessments and prescribes functional and corrective exercises. As a senior qualified massage therapist, Ben’s sessions also include soft tissue therapy and specialised stretching. Ben guarantees a hard personal session and also prescribes individualised programs to follow outside of your PT session to stay motivated.

After a session with Ben, your whole body will feel relaxed and strong with balanced posture.

Ben has also studied extensively in the nutritional fields of “Metabolic Typing” and “Functional Diagnostic Nutrition” and can offer extensive health and nutritional assessments as well as specialised lab testing panels for hormones and gut/liver function.

DANIEL ANDRIC

Personal Trainer, Class Instructor

Daniel has been going to the gym since he was 16, looking after himself while also helping his friends and family along the way, he developed his passion for Health and Fitness.

Dan’s main passion does lie within education so he is currently going to University and is in the process of completing a Bachelor of secondary education and creative writing. 

On the side of work and study Dan has played in the Men’s AFL Canberra First Grade competition since 2020. He won the Best First-year player for Eastlake in 2020 and then in 2021 he won the Most Valuable Player award. 

Dan has said that Playing at a semi-professional level in football has given him the knowledge and techniques to apply what he has learned to his training methods with clients.

KAILEY GORMAN

Exercise Physiologist, Class Instructor, and Personal Trainer

Currently finishing a diploma in weight management

Kailey’s main passion in the area of exercise physiology is working with the older population to maintain quality of life, in conjunction with the management and prevention of chronic disease. She has experience with a wide variety of chronic health conditions, spending time at the University of Canberra Hospital, Neuromoves, the University of Canberra Cancer Clinic, and with the Active Brain Research Group.  

Kailey also comes from a diverse sporting background, working with high level sporting teams such as the Brumbies and Snow Australia.  She also personally enjoys a wide range of sports and is a high level division 1 state league netball player. She is also an experienced netball coach, with 8 years of coaching experience. When she isn't on the netball court you'll find her on a snowboard. She loves the snow so much she is currently the president of the University of Canberra Snowsports Club!

SEPIDEH FOROOZAN

Personal Trainer, Class Instructor

Certificate III & IV in Fitness, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (USA), NASM Nutrition Coach (USA), Certified Zumba Instructor & Strong Nation Instructor,

Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Sepideh has been in the fitness industry for a long time, with over a decade of experience as a fitness instructor. She is dedicated to creating enjoyable, pain & injury-free workout experiences using preventive measures and corrective exercise programs. Her expertise extends to supporting individuals with chronic conditions, tailoring fitness solutions to meet their unique needs.

Throughout her career, Sepideh has worked with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds across four regions and continents, enhancing her ability to connect and adapt to different needs and preferences.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Sepideh is passionate about aerial sports and Pilates. She also enjoys Latin dancing and continually challenges herself by learning new techniques. Known for her positive energy, personalised attention, and motivating presence, Sepideh helps you not only achieve your fitness goals but also ensures you feel confident and empowered in the process.

With over 7 years experience in group fitness and an inability to stand still when music is playing you’re guaranteed a fun time in classes with Jo. 

With a background in anatomy Jo can make modifications to exercises to avoid injuries and strengthen weak areas so you can enjoy the group setting safely. Sh is all about making you feel comfortable in the workout space while you work on yourself.
